Spays/Neuters

Neutering of pets, specifically termed "spaying" for females and "castration" for males, is an important step in preventing unwanted puppies and kittens. Spaying/neutering your pets decreases the pet population, decreases the incidence of certain behavioral problems (i.e.: aggression, marking territory, and unwanted roaming away from home), and reduces health risks and diseases including uterine infections, mammary cancer, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer.

Vaccines

Vaccines are suspensions of organisms, bacteria or viruses, designed to prevent illness. Having your pet properly vaccinated prevents illnesses that can cause mild to severe coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, kidney and liver problems, central nervous system disease, and even death. Some of the diseases vaccines protect against are transmissible to people. Vaccinating your pet also helps protect the community.

Annual Blood Testing

Annual blood testing: As our pets go through their natural age transitions, from puppy, adult, to our senior pet, they continue to undergo normal metabolic changes. Changes in skin, hair coat, vision, hearing, and appetite only gives your veterinarian limited information. Potential problems such as blood disorders, kidney, liver and heart disease, diabetes, infection, cancer, thyroid and other hormonal disorders can be detected by further testing.
